On October 17th, 2025, I had the pleasure of giving a university lecture titled “Language and the Construction of Psycho-Cultural Networks and Social Dynamics” within the course Integration and Psycho-Cultural Dynamics, part of the degree program in Social Sciences at Sapienza University of Rome, hosted by Marilena Fatigante.
The lecture explored how language, perception, and cognition shape our shared social worlds — from the biosemiotic roots of perception to the cultural processes through which values and identities are constructed. We examined how individual experiences, sensory processes, and collective meaning-making are deeply intertwined in the ecology of human relationships.
I am really grateful to Marilena Fatigante for this wonderful opportunity and for the inspiring collaboration that has been growing over the years. This lecture continues a long-standing exchange that already includes three seminars she invited me to give to an audience of specialists at Sapienza, on perception and cognition in the psychology of Buddhist meditation.
It was a real joy to teach and discuss these ideas with such an engaged audience, and I look forward to further collaborative developments in the near future!
